Marathon Training Season

It is that time of year…our most favorite time of year…Marathon Training Season!!  There’s nothing like living off a runner’s high, every weekend, for 12 weeks in a row.  Complete RUUUUSH!  The runner’s are out in full force in our city.  And so are we!  We hit the trails yesterday for our first long run!

If you’ve decided to join the Marathon Club, Congratulations!! And Welcome!!  You can DO THIS!  How do we know?  Because if WE can do this, YOU can do this!  All you have to do to finish a Half or Full Marathon is this one thing….believe.  It’s true.  Believe that you can…and you will!

Also, we want you to keep these 3 things in your back pocket to pull out when when you think you can’t:

1. A Marathon is not about winning.  A Marathon is about finishing.

2. Yes, your body requires adequate training.  But your mind requires just as much, if not more.  You can…and you will…train your mind to make your feet take one step in front of the other for 13.1 for the half, or 26.2 miles for the full.

3.  Never doubt yourself.  Even in mile 8 when you can’t feel your legs and you want to quit.  “Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.” -William Shakespeare
